I’ve got yet another style of “pocket” tutorial for you today! I think I could do a different style every week for a year—actually much longer, and still not run out of fun and unique ideas. In this project, we’re going to create several gusseted pockets, and put them together, accordion style, in a Matchbook Folio. These are reminiscent of accordion files to me—only miniaturized! And so much cuter! These folios are great for organizing small ephemera, snippets, tags, or paper scraps, or for filling with those things or other goodies to give to others. I used book pages for… Continue reading
Much of my own Survivor to Thriver story has only been shared at conferences and in private groups thus far. But God continues to open doors to help bring healing to others, through my story and my training in helping abuse and betrayal survivors, and that is what this website was created to do. So… “that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” 2 Corinthians 1:4 It’s interesting to see what comes up in “memories” from the past. Did you notice the tabs on my altered envelope, that I posted on Freely Whole Creative Studio on Facebook, this week? That Envelope tutorial will be coming soon, but for that project, and as I continue creating, I’m grateful to Julie, at Camelia Craft Designs (on YouTube,) for designing a “whale tail” type tab for Cricut Design Space (free if you have Access), since that style of punch is nearly impossible to find (at least affordably. So quick and easy to have dozens of tabs at the ready. Much faster than I could punch or manually die cut. And definitely,… Continue reading
Creativity is soul care that is both effective and enjoyable for the brain healing from trauma. But to be effective, it needs to be practiced. And nothing helps practice more than making it a habit. And nothing creates habits better than doing it daily. Yes, I know what you’re saying, but stick with me. What creative soul care have you been doing recently? Most of my creations this past few weeks have continued to be envelopes, pockets and folios, with some Bible Journaling and tags and cards and jewelry making, and … and, here and there. Ok, I admit it,… Continue reading
