Light Overcomes

Last night, my heart was heavy. I knew I needed some creative meditative time. The feeling of “Play” wasn’t there. The “Pray” was heavily dominant in my Pray & Play time.

I felt like collaging. Just gluing all the torn pieces together—into a heart of love.

The scripture above came immediately to my mind.

The quote above came across my feed.

But as I dumped my envelope of book and music pages collage fodder on my desk, this verse was at the top of a scrap, on the top of my pile. ❤️

God is still the Sovereign Almighty—and Love itself—and Light itself! Even in the midst of all the tragedy on earth,

in our nation,

that has happened in recent weeks,

that happened on 9/11,

that happened yesterday. 😢

His Love and Light will not be overcome by hate and darkness.

This theme of Light keeps popping up this year.

🎇 I did a whole journal series on various aspects of Matthew 5:14-16, earlier this year.

🎇 I created a page on Psalm 23:4, last month, for my course—Light overcoming darkness in the valley of darkness and death.

🎇 I’m currently putting together a workshop on Jesus’ incarnation as The Light has come!

I’ve not set out searching for passages on Light. They’ve fallen in my lap.

I think God has a message for this dark, troubled world! May we wake up and hear it! This world needs Jesus!

I didn’t have time to finish my make last night. And don’t even know that any of it will stay the same…

Except the Message, darkness will not overcome Light—and hate will not triumph over His Love. God is not mocked. Whatever is sown will be reaped. And He wins!

Reflect His Light to the world around you. Let your light shine before others, that they will sees and glorify your Father in heaven.
