Celebrating A Very Special Survivor

Today I honor a very special abuse and se*ually betrayed survivor. My mama! ❤️💖❤️ My mom, like most women in her era, did not talk openly about her pain, abuse experiences, or divorce. The were no post-divorce therapists. Divorced women hopefully had friends, usually 1 or 2 close friends who were probably also divorcees, in whom they could confide. There was no healing path. Many were still grieving or hurt or without clarity 20 or 30 years later. Many remarried—2, 3, or 4 times, only getting back into the same situations. The damage never resolved. Thankfully, my mom remarried a… Continue reading

Happy Labor Day!

🩷 Some Labor Day trivia. 💙 😁Skip to the end if TMI! 🤣 I’ve been through labor, (and delivered) 12 times. (The first completely alone, (in hospital) and clueless.) 😢My longest labor was 60 hrs. Survivor Memories

Much of my own Survivor to Thriver story has only been shared at conferences and in private groups thus far. (x doesn’t come up directly, as… Continue reading

Shalom

While I was convalescing last month, I had plenty of time to think of direction, focus, goals. I’d already made some decisions that would make a change going forward. I thought that specific path of change would begin in January, but found that it needed to be postponed for a little longer this year, leaving me in a gap. I’m a recovering overachiever, overthinker, overfunctioner. Having a gap, while looking to move forward, doesn’t sit well on my soul. “God, what do you want me to do in this “gap?” I have goals. I want to move forward with this…. Continue reading

Happy New Year!

Everyone has a story. Perhaps you love your life. Perhaps you don’t like where you’re story seems to be heading. But until you take your final breath, no one really knows what all their story has to tell. Our plots take so many twists and turns that only God knows where they’re leading. But that doesn’t mean we should just let life sweep us along, throwing at us whatever it brings, with no active response from us. The issues of life are meant to strengthen us. We are to learn and grow from them. Although God directs our steps, we… Continue reading
