Bible Journaling—Psalm 19

☀️The heavens declare the glory of God!🌑 Today’s full eclipse was an amazing display of God’s creativity and precise order in His creation. Rightfully, people were super excited at the chance to see this less than once in a lifetime event. Seeing such a fabulous show of God’s glory is truly an awe inspiring experience—even if only viewing on TV or online. It is worth talking about, traveling to, taking photos of—and praising God for. I wasn’t in the path of totality—this time. But had this once in a lifetime experience when the 2017 full eclipse path of totality crossed… Continue reading

Bible Journaling—Numbers 6

May God Bless you… and give you Peace! Amen! Saint Patrick’s Day seemed like a good time to do some mixed media journaling in Numbers 6. And I had to, of course, include a four-leaf clover. 🍀 Numbers 6:24-26 is known as “The Priestly Prayer” “The Lord bless you and keep you;The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” This make started with Tea dyed paper from my stash. I added some ink smooshing with Vintage Photo Distress Spray and edging with Brushed Corduroy… Continue reading

Peeling the Onion

Healing comes in such layers. Sometimes we think things are good, and then another layer of the onion is peeled back, by new triggering events. And again, and again, we feel defeated. Not like conquerors in Christ. Not even like we’ll ever get through the battle. Defeated, alone, and perhaps ready to give up the fight. But somehow (by God’s strength, and those that “bear one another’s burdens” and pray for us) we plow through. We wrestle. We reflect. We process. And eventually we see a small ray of hope. Another layer of healing ❤️‍🩹. We don’t expect that wrestling… Continue reading

Psalm 7:11 & Experimenting

What do you do when you’ve got a painted background, created long ago, that’s a hot mess? And a verse you also highlighted long ago that you still want to journal? You spend time in God’s Word. You enter into God’s peace and presence. You experiment. And you enjoy the process without worrying about the finished product. Once upon a time, when I was splattering paint here and there, I threw this hot pink paint, sloppily, in the margin (and all over) here. Now was the time to go back and see if I could salvage it. Not to see… Continue reading

Remember His Works

When I am troubled, I will remember his works! He is faithful! “I cried out to God with my voice— To God with my voice; And He gave ear to me. In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; My hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing; My soul refused to be comforted. I remembered God, and was troubled; I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. —Selah “You hold my eyelids open; I am so troubled that I cannot speak. I have considered the days of old, The years of ancient times. I call to remembrance… Continue reading

The Word for Today – Yatom

Today leaves a void for many, whether that is physically, emotionally, or spiritually. For some that void is mourned, especially if a good and loved father has died. For others, it’s the unmet longing for their physical dad to be a spiritual dad also, to be counted among the redeemed children of God. For others, the void is emotional, a dad who isn’t there, who isn’t good, who isn’t who he should be; and that can bring a wide range of emotions. Thankful that one is no longer under his abuse or ramifications of his addictions. Happy to be able… Continue reading

Bible Journaling Tutorial – Resurrection

He is Risen! Risen indeed! This one event completely changed history, infinitely more than any other. It also completely changed my life—and perhaps yours too. It is the most important event in history—and in my life. I’ve been enjoying creatively journaling this event in my Bible, every year. I’ve created a different style and look in each one. This year’s Resurrection journaling was created with napkin collaging, stamping, and like my previous 2 entries, images from the Free Printable I designed. Supplies needed for this page are: Bible or Journal page—and Protection mat Napkin Collage Medium & brush/applicator Water brush… Continue reading

It’s Friday, but …

Sunday is coming! On the first day of the Feast of Matzah (Unleavened Bread), Y’Shua kept the Pesach (Passover) with His disciples. This Feast, was instituted by Yahweh God. When His people were held in bondage in Egypt, at His order, a spotless lamb was sacrificed and its blood applied to the doorposts, to protect those within from the judgement He was bringing. Passover not only remembered their deliverance from slavery in Egypt, it more importantly looked forward to the eternal deliverance of God’s children from the bondage of sin, by the Lamb of God, the Messiah, Y’Shua ha-Mashiach. Besides… Continue reading
