Do you have a go-to card making style you use? Certain techniques and supplies that are almost always included? Do you make multiples of the cards you make, or are they all unique? And your style more varied and eclectic?

If you follow me, you know I’m very eclectic, and always unique; utilizing many different techniques, but having a couple primary supplies that show up most of the time.
I’m registered for a Card Making Summit next week.* There are about 30 instructors, and probably more than that many styles will be demonstrated, and even more styles made by the attendees. Who knows? Maybe something will be presented that I’ve not done yet. Even if not, I enjoy seeing everyone’s different take on card making.
Like all art styles, there is a wide variety of styles and complexities, even when using the same basic techniques, in card making. Even in our own making.

2 of the cards that I made a couple weeks ago, (deer and ice skates,) demonstrate that. Both utilize primarily inking and die cuts. The “simpler” card also includes stamping. The more complex card utilizes store-bought pattered paper. The opposite of what you’d expect.

The other 3 birthday cards I made this month pull in more techniques and different styles. One, (the bird, like its sister art piece at the top,) uses similar die cutting and stamping, but a mixed media style background, including a variety of stenciling and background stamping.

Another, (classic “girl mouse”,) adds to the inking, stenciling, and die cutting with dry embossing, coloring, and fussy cutting a digital image.

The other, (butterfly,) stamping and die cutting are present, but alcohol inked background and heat embossed focal point are a totally different style.

For me, card making is a labor of love, creating unique art creations for each recipient. Each piece beautiful in its own individual way. Like their beloved recipients are to me.
Which is your favorite?
