Today’s the day! Whatever day you read this, it is today!
But today, February 22, 2026 is the first day of The 100 Day Project, a fun, free motivator to get and keep you creating. I want to encourage you to start your “100 Day Project” on whatever day you read this.

What is The 100 Day Project?
“The 100 Day Project is a free, global art project built around one simple idea: show up to your creative practice every day for 100 days. Anyone can participate!”
from The100DaysProject.org
There are no rules. Nothing you need to join or register for. Just make a commitment to yourself to create everyday for 100 Days—and most likely once you’re in the habit, you won’t quit there!
It doesn’t matter what type of creativity you do—sketch artist, seamstress, paper crafter, writer, knitter, photographer, … or Mixed Media Faith Artist!👩🏻🎨 It doesn’t matter if you have a studio and a lot of expensive supplies or just a notebook and pencil. It doesn’t matter if you have a lot of “free time” on your hands, or if your days are jam packed.
The only “requirement” is that you want to use the gift of creativity that your Creator has placed in each one of us—in YOU!— in whatever way you choose, (and IMO, to glorify and worship Him through it.) This does not need to be something you are talented at! This is not about making “good” art, (let alone professional level.) This is about growing the creative seed placed in you when God created you. It’s about transforming your soul. (My take on this, not the originators of The Project.)
The originators of The 100 Day Project do encourage you to post on social media and use certain tags to share your work, and they do have other paid aspects you can subscribe to. But none of that is necessary. This is all about you creating—and sharing, or not,—in your own unique way.
Why 100 Days?
Consistency can be the hardest part of being creative for many. And like many things it life, it is harder to get the ball rolling again, than to keep it rolling once it’s going. 100 days will make your creativity a habit, that you’ll likely continue.
Analysis paralysis is a real thing for creatives—especially when beginning our craft or picking it back up after we’ve laid it down for a while.
What gets you “off the bench” when you’re struggling to start?
Share your answer in the Comments here or on our Freely Whole {Creative} Community group!
A “challenge” or making a commitment (even if just to yourself) can be the motivator to get and keep you going—until the joy and excitement to keep going kick in.
Tips!
This creative project is not about sitting down and creating a complete art piece everyday. It is about doing something creative for a few minutes every day. Both the originators and I recommend just 5-10 minutes a day.
If you’ve followed me a while, you know I’m a huge fan of Layer a Day creating (especially applies to mixed media, adjust terminology for your type of creativity!) Just do one short step a day. Some days mine is only 1 minute! Trying to push through long sessions daily usually doesn’t work out long term (unless you’re a professional who works your craft all day every day.) You hit days when you can’t do the big session, and then more and more days like that, and pretty soon, you haven’t created in weeks, or months—all because you don’t have hours each day. But anyone can find 5-10 minutes a day.

Unless you already have a big project in process or specifically planned, work on small projects—small size with smaller steps. Last year I shared several Faith Dex Cards that I made during this Project. I also have done 4×4” and 6×6” Art Journal pages. The steps for these small sized projects, can easily be completed in our short daily time frame (much easier than if you’re working on a 24 or 48” canvas.) These small projects won’t take 100 days. But as you complete each one, you’ll be inspired for the next. And even if you don’t know what to do next, you can just lay a layer of something down.
Another help can be found in following prompts. These are a word or phrase that can inspire you to get started, and where. It may be a theme, or a first step, or something to include in your make. I have a Free Download of Prompts for you to use in any type of Art Journaling—some specific to Faith Art. Click on over to get it!
Full Deck/Dex Prompts: A full year’s worth of art journaling prompts in many categories. Complete a Full Deck of 52 Altered Playing Cards, or Dex Cards, or use for any other Art Journaling. Categories range from Inspirational Words, Names of God and Jesus, to Color, Paper, Nature, Objects, Embellishments, and other Focus Words. Each category is compiled into Checklists, for your convenience.

My 100 Day Journey of Creativity
Want to join me on this 100 Day Journey of Creativity? I will be working on a variety of projects. Most will be Mixed Media. Surprise, Surprise! 😄 But others will be thrown in as creative projects I “need” to do, when I need to. Some will be specific projects I’m working on. Others will be just layers as the beginnings of unknown future projects. Most will be Faith Art.

Along the way I’ll be sharing some of my makes and daily “Layers” of WIP (works in progress.) But not every day. (I’d rather spend most of my time creating instead of always making daily updates.)
Along the way, I’ll also be sharing some Tips & Techniques chosen from my Mixed Media Foundations Course. Hopefully I’ll get some of them made into video tutorials. Follow along to get support for your own Faith+Art Mixed Media journey.
I hope you’ll “join me” on this journey—even though there’s nothing to “join” (except for Subscribing to my site if you want to get my updates, or if you choose to join my free Creative Community.)
I fully believe, if you follow this journey of creating, for just a few minutes everyday, for 100 days, you will experience transforming growth in not just your creativity, but also in your soul and life! Because you were created to create! 💖
What will you do for your 100 Day Journey of Creativity? Please share—as much or as little as you’d like—in our private Community group. (And also tag @freelywhole if you share publicly, and #the100dayproject if you want really widespread public audience.
