This healing and freeing process also brought liberty to my creative teaching. I’ve always taught a wide variety of creative endeavors—in many different “mediums”, from fabric to yarn to paper to many others. As you can imagine, I used to only teach what I felt I could do with a completely predictable outcome, a perfect finished product.
Through my healing journey, I also discovered that so many people don’t create, not because they don’t want to, but because they think they can’t. They look at the instructor’s finished products, the talent they think is required, the years of practice they think is required, and don’t bother even starting. They (you?) are looking at art as only a finished perfect product, not a transformational process.
But Creativity is for everyone! You’ve probably heard me say that before. Yes, I’m a broken record on that Truth. Creativity is for YOU!
What’s stopping you? Is it because you think you lack required talent? Is it because you think you don’t have time? Is it because you think it doesn’t really matter? Is it because you think you have to make a beautiful finished product, something “good” to show for your investment of time and materials? Soul-transforming creativity is none of that.
Soul-transforming creativity is truly about:

- Transformation more than Talent.
- Practice not Perfection.
- Soul not Skill.
- Connection to your God-given Creativity, even if it’s been hidden deep inside.
- Developing your whole-being, as God Designed you to be.
- Bring Beauty from Ashes—focusing on your Soul more than on the Substrate.
- Finding more Peace, Growth, Healing, and Freedom—in Jesus in your life!
