America’s Semi-QuinCenntinial is tomorrow! It’s a big deal! Let’s celebrate!

And of course, what better way to commemorate than to get into my creative studio and make some mixed media art!

With this being such a huge thing to commemorate, I was really disappointed, that for our nation’s 250th birthday there were very minimal creative supplies produced, and very hard to find those few. I was expecting to see my creative feeds filled with makes and tutorials. Pretty darn near crickets. When I searched to find others that I don’t follow, results were from many years past. I don’t want to see “Christmas in July” on the Semi-QuinCentennial birthday of the free-est nation on earth!

So it was time to institute the American tradition of making-do with what you have. I couldn’t make everything I envisioned in my mind, but I could make. And I could meditate on God’s goodness to allow us to live here and see this milestone.

Processes, as always, included many layers of spraying, splattering, stamping, stenciling, texture pastes, ink blending, heat embossing, and die cutting. Resulting in a Mixed Media journal page (temporarily a part of my dining room table display) and a framed wall hanging. ❤️

Here’s the process video. And supply pics are below.

Happy 250th birthday, USA! 🇺🇸
God Bless America! 🥰
