Emmanuel, God with us.
Behold, the tabernacle of God is with humanity, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.
Revelation 21:3
Many hundreds of years before Jesus was born, Isaiah prophesied by the Spirit of God, that a “virgin will conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Emmanuel [God with us].”
As Y’shua (Jesus), God the Son came to earth in human flesh, through that virgin, and lived among His people, 2000 years ago. He walked this earth, as a man, for 33 years. But even more than that, after He was killed, He resurrected from the dead and later ascended back to heaven, then sent His Spirit to dwell within His people. No longer as a man, limited by human capacities, living amongst humans, but as God the Spirit, living in and guiding those humans who have been saved by faith in the work of Jesus, and empowering them to follow Him.
With Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles (booths/tents) starting this weekend, I would have loved to make this Faith Art journal page with tents, representing each of us that have God’s Spirit living in us, Him “tabernacling”, dwelling in us. But I chose to use these houses instead. Same concept. ❤️
Is God not only with you, in His Word, but also in you, by His Spirit?
