YHWH Rapha
There are so many ways we experience God as healer.
YHWH Rapha has shown himself mighty in my life in so many ways. For my son who was on death’s door twice, when a baby/toddler, with a horrible prognosis, but now is 32 years old and healthy. Even when my baby daughter died 36 years ago, God granted me peace beyond understanding. For me personally, in healing betrayal (adultery) and psychological abuse-caused Complex PTS, the deepest wounds of the heart.
There were so many ways I could have gone for this Faith Art journal page. I chose a simple dress to represent our humanity. Fallen humanity is frail and finite in spirit, soul, and body. We will have suffering in all those areas here on earth. But our Redeemer has come to bring wholeness to us that belong to Him.
He has come to heal the broken-hearted, to heal the sick, mostly to heal our spirits and bring reconciliation to God. We will all experience various degrees of healing and of suffering here on earth. But for those of us who are spiritually healed here, we will have complete healing in every area one day. Sozo—wholeness.
I chose to add the word Sozo on my dress, which is the complete wholeness He gives—spirit, soul, and body. And to emphasize several verses on YHWH Rapha, God our Healer, in the hearts.
The Spirit of Adonai YHWH is on me, because YHWH has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners.
Isaiah 61:1
Heal me, Adonai Rapha; save me, and I will be saved, for you are my praise.
Jeremiah 17:14
He heals (Rapha) the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Psalm 147:3
Daughter, your faith has made you whole (Sozo). Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.
Mark 5:34
