Happy NYE!

Happy New Year’s Eve!
What was your favorite thing you created in 2025?

Here are 12 of my favorite mixed media Faith+Art makes of 2025.
It was hard to narrow them down, they all brought me such Joy in the making. Although I repeat like a broken record, “transformational art making is more about the beauty created in you than on the canvas/page,” it’s still nice when we have finished art projects that we love.

Up first is a journal page I’ve never shown here before. It’s from my course, He Restores My Soul—a transformative Faith+Art journey through Psalm 23. I love how that background came together!

My favorite ornament I made this year. (That I came up with after making my grands 28 ornaments.) Mixed media on another substrate. Love it! I really want to get a video of this one up. It was so fun! (Will link it when I do.)

Neurographic drawing is such healing creativity. But I have really loved adding just a touch of mixed media Faith+Art to my neuro makes. Born out of a Pray & Play* time posted here. And Video post here.

Mixed Media Meditation Faith+Art meets junk journaling. I created this journal page for a session I taught for a faith junk journal collab on Exploring Joy. I got to choose my verse and it just happened to be the one scheduled for a day significant in my life. Abiding in His Joy is so key to our lives, and I dug deep into the scriptures in teaching this make. And—daisies are my fave! Video teaching here. Other of my pages from this retreat are also posted.

This mixed media journal page is my rogue interpretation from an online retreat I attended. I’ve not shown this one here before either. But since it’s in my top 12, and I love it and my thought process in scripture behind it, I just may recreate it, sharing both the art and meditation process.

This journal page was also from the same online retreat. Although the instructor’s verse was the one from Ezekiel, her basic page style brought up a personal reflection on Psalm 23:4, at a significant time in my life. So I deviated from the inspiration in their workshop, as usual. It was fun using different styles of inspiration in that journal. Catch the process and reflections here.

This framed piece, hanging on my wall, is from my Christmas Faith+Art Mixed Media Meditation workshop I taught online for a large group of women who are survivors of DV. My biggest class I taught this year, and no doubt the single piece I put the most work into. (The Psalm 23 Course pieces are right up there, too.) Writing the scripture meditation was as much work as the art itself. But since almost all of my makes are Faith+Art, they all have deep backstories, even if I don’t share it all here. It was such a hit! And I also loved it so much, I will re-record this one and put it up as a class here. (Also posted about here.)

This mixed media Faith Dex card was part of my Layer-A-Day series at the beginning of 2025. These small, Layer-A-Day pieces take next to no time each day, and keep you in your creative mojo. Perfect for everyone! I love creating that way, and will post much more on it in 2026. I love all that texture in this one! See the process here.

A mixed media journal page from a different faith-based online retreat focused on The Greatest of These is Love, with each artist teacher focusing on a different verse, in their own style. I loved so many of my pages in this journal/from this retreat. But I think this is my fave. Check out my process here. Other of my pages from this retreat also have posts.

Let your Light Shine was the theme of the online retreat I made the journal this page comes from. The entire course, every page, was on the same verses. It was so fun seeing each teaching artist’s styles for this retreat, then interpreting them in our own way. I chose different aspects of the passage for each page. Process for this page is here. Other of my pages from this retreat also have posts.

Another NeuroArt inspired journal page, this one from the same online retreat collab as my Dry Bones above. This one a bit different than my usual neurographic style. This page had several false starts. And I’d never added doodling to my neurographic art before. Read more about it here.

Last but not least, I love and collect old handmade quilts. I just love all the different patchwork patterns, and also love making them. Are you catching the love? ❤️ When I don’t have time for making sewn ones (because I’m too busy making mixed media Faith+Art) 🤗 I like making paper ones. I found this die set a few months ago and had to play.

Which is your favorite? Let me know in the Comments. And share your favorite creative thing you made in 2025 with us, too!
