Last week, my peonies and roses started to bloom. It’s been so dry here, I was surprised to see them mid-May.

I’m so thankful I snapped some pics, even though there weren’t many blossoms, because just an hour later it started to hail. I didn’t know how bad it would be, or if they would survive it. My doubts sprang from disappointment just a few weeks earlier, when just after the first day of Spring, my first 3 daffodils bloomed. A freeze just after that insured none of the rest would.

But the next day, I walked outside to see this. My precious few, small blooms of hope had turned the storm into nourishment. They not only withstood the storm, but they thrived. And the rest of my flower bushes joined them with bountiful blossoms.

The freeze. The drought. The hail. All destroy life.
But God…
‘Tis the story of my life of storms. I can’t (or won’t here) begin to recount the storms. The freeze. The drought. The hail. The destruction. in my life.
But God…
YHWH will open for you his abundant storehouse, the sky, to give your land rain in its season and to bless all the work of your hands.
Deuteronomy 28:12
In the fullness of time, God brings forth. Out of the dry wilderness. Out of dormancy. Out of destruction.
He breathes life.
He brings forth change.
He brings color.
He brings fresh fragrance.
He brings beauty.
He brings Life!
He brings abundance!

Matthew 7:25
The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on the rock.
YHWH is my Strength and my Joy through every storm!
Is He yours?
