I’m continuing my Layer a Day creating, even amidst the other creating I’ve been doing. I’m so behind on posts. But I wanted to get as much creative time in as I could during my after-Christmas “break” (from just about everything except work.) I know that extra time to create will have plenty of dry spells soon enough, especially now that my classes have all resumed and I have more other things on my plate again. Christmas break is over.
We got a little snow after Christmas, and it’s all pretty much gone now (but the super cold is back). But since I hadn’t got to do any creating with my Christmas or winter supplies for the Holiday, I wanted to have some play time with them. I had 5 birthday cards to make in the last couple weeks. I figured winter birthdays could have winter themes. I already shared one of those cards with you. Here’s the three from this past week.
So why am I sharing birthday cards, when I said this is a Layer a Day post? That Snowflake card led to me meditating on our individual uniqueness—just like snowflakes. So, I wanted to create a Faith Dex card based on this card design.
If you don’t know the story or photographic work of ‘Snowflake’ Bentley, check it out! He’s the man who discovered that “no two snowflakes are alike.” He was the first person to photograph a single snow crystal, in 1885. And he went on to photograph many thousands more, and come to the conclusion of their individual uniqueness. What a mighty God we serve! One who is so infinite in His creativity, that He designed every snowflake, throughout all of time, to be Unique! Just like every one of us!
So without further ado ….

Meditation: It may seem cliche, but it is such a powerful truth. Psalm 139:14
I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.
I also reflected on Psalm 51:7, on our forgiveness available through Jesus, and how His red blood that was shed cleanses us whiter than snow.
Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
What reminds you that you are One of a Kind, uniquely made, different than anyone else ever—by our infinitely creative Creator?
