Do you ever think you don’t have time to create? That it isn’t worth taking time for? That creativity is just an “extra”, for if everything else actually ever gets completely done, and you have nothing else to do? Only a reward you only get to enjoy, if you’ve worked real hard and finished every possible other thing?
I’m loving 😍 this page composition, that I finished today. A reminder of my long espoused belief and motto that we were created to create, like our Creator. That creativity is not an “if-there’s-time extra”. But it is an important part of living a healthy life, and a powerful healer through life’s hard times. That we need beauty in life. That beauty in life can be created from ashes.
I had designed this page in my head, starting with envisioning the Life is Art stamp and the artist girl stamp, for a page in my She Created a Life She Loves mixed media Journal. The other components gradually came into my mind’s eye. But the final touch wasn’t thought of until the rest of the page elements had been made and I was putting it all together. I spotted a fabric label in my stash that I’d created long ago. “She decided she was worth it.” Another great motto, for anytime I’m tempted to think that time for creativity, time for relaxing, de-stressing, healing, can’t be “taken”. That it’s not “worth it.” That I’m not worth it! That downtime is an extra that must be earned.
As I said, I love this page. It carries much deep meaning for me, as a healer, a creator, one making beauty from ashes. Another component I knew I wanted to include in this composition was all the colors of the rainbow, God’s promise to make beauty from ashes.
