Cardmaking—Month?

September was on fire with Faith Art, as my Studio was hopping with Art Journaling 10 Names of God . I really enjoyed being able to devote that time to that theme and series. And love the makes that came from it. Check them out.

Every October, I tend to focus on Domestic Violence Awareness Month. It’s not just for those surviving domestic abuse, but rather to make others aware of what all it entails and how they can support those around them. This year, instead of reposting (or coming up with a whole new set of posts,) I’ve just directed you to the DVAM posts already here, as my brain is also needing to be engaged in several other directions.

So this month has been a little quieter here on the blog. Part of it is Life. Music performances. Heavy family events. Ad infinitum. … But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working in my Studio. Just that it’s been different.

  1. I’ve made a cover and bound all those Faith Art journal pages into a book, since I’d worked on them as loose pages. A share for another day. ✅
  2. I’m working on putting together a Gratitude Journal Create-along, that I hope you join me in next month. ✅
  3. National Cardmaking Day isn’t just a day here, or even a week, as I posted earlier. It’s a busy Cardmaking month here, so many birthdays and events—and I’ve not even thought of Christmas yet. 😊 ✅

So here’s a card dump from this month—and more still to come.

❤️ Hope you enjoy the inspiration. And can take some of the ideas and incorporate them into cards—or even journal pages you make. ❤️

A card with deep emotion, thought and prayer behind it. And almost all of my favorite techniques. I 💖 this one!
A non-traditional card based on their wedding theme.
For 2 leaders in the same event—again, theme based. Duplicates with small differences.
Again making duplicates. When you find a design that works well, mass making—even if it’s just 2, saves time and sanity—especially if going to people who don’t see each other or their cards. Little tweaks and changes make the cards still individual and unique.
Since I was on a multiples roll, I went back to a design I’d made this summer and really enjoyed. I changed up the colors and made a couple more.

Gratitude Create-along

With more cards needed in the next couple of weeks, I’d appreciate your prayers for my time needed to finish putting together my upcoming Gratitude Create-along. And I hope you’ll join in as we spend 30 days digging into it.

Gratitude is more than a platitude. It definitely is not “toxic positivity”. And certainly is more than just a rote and surface, “I’m thankful for Jesus, my family, and my home.” We’re going to explore what “giving thanks in all things” means and looks like. How it brings healing. How it rewires the brain. And how we can express it creatively. —I’m working on a better title for it. We’ll see. 😉
