How Jesus Views Women

The ancient world, for the most part, had a low view of women. After sin entered this world, God said that sinful men would desire to rule over women, and it surely happened. Although Jesus came to “reverse the curse”, restore what had been lost through The Fall, sadly many, even those who proclaim Christianity, somehow think that those sinful desires should be perpetuated. Believing that women are less than, lower than men, and that men should rule over women. Even though that directly opposes what Jesus teaches about how His followers’ hearts and actions should be. Throughout the Gospels… Continue reading

Rhythms of Life

I recently came across a reel with the words in this image. Strong truths about life. That brought strong pondering in my soul. In my education in trauma healing, I was often “surprised”/not surprised to learn how many of the healing/regulating “techniques” are things that are done naturally—and have been throughout time. Things we did automatically, even as children, to “self-soothe”. Things mom and grandma and loving, caring others did naturally—without any training or therapeutic language for it—to help those around them when in times of trouble, that are now seen as “co-regulation”. Calming, “nervous system regulating,” activities that kept… Continue reading

Happy NYE!

Happy New Year’s Eve!What was your favorite thing you created in 2025? Here are 12 of my favorite mixed media Faith+Art makes of 2025.It was hard to narrow them down, they all brought me such Joy in the making. Although I repeat like a broken record, “transformational art making is more about the beauty created in you than on the canvas/page,” it’s still nice when we have finished art projects that we love. Up first is a journal page I’ve never shown here before. It’s from my course, He Restores My Soul—a transformative Faith+Art journey through Psalm 23. I love… Continue reading

Seasons—Looking Ahead

If you’ve read my last 2 posts, you know that as I transition from the busy holidays into a New Year, I take a week for Reflection. Looking back and Looking forward. I know very little about what the New Year will throw my way, but I focus on what I desire to create more of in my life—as well as look at what I want less of, (and how much of it is in my ability to get rid of.) Life will throw us enough curve balls that there is nothing we can do about. But we can do… Continue reading

Silent Night

Yesterday was my annual “Me & Jesus” Day. While everyone is celebrating the hustle bustle of “Christmas,” (most with no Christ acknowledged or included,) my hustle bustle, family celebration of Emmanuel, God with us in the human form of Y’shua, the babe born in Bethlehem, was completed the night before. Christmas Day has been, for almost a decade, a day when I’m alone, (as my children continued their dad’s side’s traditions, initially all day by court order.) That, of course, has brought grief, but also I chose to rewire my thoughts and redeem the day. With everyone off doing their… Continue reading

Creating a Life I Love

❤️‍🩹Domestic Abuse Awareness Month❤️‍🩹 I’m resharing this journal for #DVAwarenessMonth 💜 Every once in a while I share art pages here that are noted as “created in my She Created a Life She Loves Journal.” I created this blank eclectic journal in 2022, (see how-to video) and have slowly been art journaling on its pages (videos and web articles linked below.) It is a slow, contemplative journal, filled as I determine how I want to artistically represent things that I love in my rebuilt life. Although my greatest “creations” are all my dearly loved children, this is not a photo… Continue reading

Domestic Abuse Awareness

October is DV Awareness Month. Don’t turn a blind eye to abuse. Yes, the month is almost half gone. Yes, I’ve mentioned it in a previous post. Yes, I’ve been posting about it daily on social media—educational info, how you can help, how you can get safe, heal, and live free. Yes, I chose to not just repeat all of my past posts about this that are already here. You’ll find them all here by clicking the #DVAM tag. DV is not just what many stereotypically believe—drunken beatings.Do you recognize red flags of abuse? Check out my daily posts on… Continue reading

Called to Comfort

Called to Comfort—Decades ago, 2 Corinthians 1:4 became a mission verse for me in mentoring and coaching others. Throughout my life as I’ve gone through hard things, God has sent others to me that needed comfort, hope, wise counsel from His unchanging Word. This mixed media Faith Art journal page illustrates that. Continue reading

Send Me {video}

Isaiah 6:8 has been on my heart this past week or so. I’ve spent nearly my entire adult life in Christian ministry. But betrayal trauma nearly silenced my voice, and the years of healing from it practically put a pause in my outreach ministry. Although my personal relationship with God didn’t waiver, the level of my bold outward witness no doubt lessened. “Here am I, Lord. Send me.” “Here am I, YHWH. Send me.” Isaiah 6:8 I’ve been playing catch up back at home this week, after being gone to Convention all the last week. Still continuing to create a… Continue reading
