Day 5

Day Five—of 100 Days of Creativity, (my makes for #The100DayProject.)  Today’s #LayerADay proves my point that creativity can fit into very busy lives. Everyone can find time to be creative. The 100 Day Project is about keeping it short daily, so you can be consistent. This layer couldn’t have taken less time. Not even the recommended no more than 5-10 minutes. Literally just one. But even something so small can pack a powerful punch. After yesterday’s stamping, I questioned if I was done with my background for this art journal page. I decided No, it needs a bit of sparkle!… Continue reading

Day 4

Day Four—of 100 Days of Creativity, (my makes for #The100DayProject.)  My Layer a Day creating continues. Each layer in mixed media, each process and technique adds depth and interest to your project. Today’s layers on my background were stamping, Script writing and splatters. What did you create today? Share it in our Creative Community group.

100 Day Journey of Creativity

My 100 Day Journey of Creativity is my take on #the100dayproject (that starts today). No rules. Nothing to join. The only “requirement” (in my view) is that you want to use the gift of creativity that your Creator has placed in YOU— in whatever way you choose, for just a few minutes everyday. This is all about growing the creative seed placed in you when God created you. I fully believe, if you follow your journey of creating, for just a few minutes everyday, for 100 days, you will experience transforming growth in not just your creativity, but also in your soul and life! Because you were created to create! 💖 Continue reading

Happy NYE!

Happy New Year’s Eve!What was your favorite thing you created in 2025? Here are 12 of my favorite mixed media Faith+Art makes of 2025.It was hard to narrow them down, they all brought me such Joy in the making. Although I repeat like a broken record, “transformational art making is more about the beauty created in you than on the canvas/page,” it’s still nice when we have finished art projects that we love. Up first is a journal page I’ve never shown here before. It’s from my course, He Restores My Soul—a transformative Faith+Art journey through Psalm 23. I love… Continue reading

Love with All Your Heart

I am LOVING working in this Greatest of These is Love Journal! God not only says, but commands us to “Love with all your heart.” And He tells us exactly what/Who we are to love—Him. Our highest calling in our lives is to love Him because He first loved us. And to love others as we love ourselves. A simple command, but not always easy to do. A simple command worthy to be put simply on this spread. This spread has a simple focal point and simple message, on a multi-layered, colorful background with rich depth. The layers began with… Continue reading

Layer a Day — Dream

Up today, Layer a Day Dex Card #4. I have really enjoyed taking extra time to create this past month. Even though it’s meant I’m having to play catch up with posts. These Layer a Day Faith Dex Cards have been nice quick fill-ins, to balance having to make more than half-a-dozen, time consuming birthday cards. I shared one of the latest yesterday, and will share a few more soon. I attended an online Craft Your Stash Card Making Summit this past week. That came in perfect timing for utilizing some different techniques than my usuals, to get those cards… Continue reading

Layer a Day — Heart & Soul

I’m continuing to work on Faith Dex Cards, for my Layer A Day, when I don’t have time to work on a larger project. Just 1-5 minutes a day. Just one layer. No concern as to whether there is a direction it’s heading or not. Up today is my third Faith Dex card for this year. I love the depth and texture on this card! And just enough of a rustic, primitive feel to satisfy my soul. Layer 1: This creation started with collaging pieces of a hymn, that had been edged with Ground Espresso Distress Watercolor Pencil, onto the… Continue reading

Layer a Day – Unique

I’m continuing my Layer a Day creating, even amidst the other creating I’ve been doing. I’m so behind on posts. But I wanted to get as much creative time in as I could during my after-Christmas “break” (from just about everything except work.) I know that extra time to create will have plenty of dry spells soon enough, especially now that my classes have all resumed and I have more other things on my plate again. Christmas break is over. We got a little snow after Christmas, and it’s all pretty much gone now (but the super cold is back)…. Continue reading

Layer a Day – Joy

I sometimes lose track of time when creating. I love when I have time to create and just leave everything else behind, out of mind. But those times are fewer and further between than I’d like. I also sometimes have a hard time creating if I can’t really spend some time on it, coming up with ideas, executing them, having a finished product in mind. In my last post, I shared well over 150 prompts with you, to help you get started—whether you’ve lost your mojo or are just looking for some inspiration. Whether you want to complete a “Full… Continue reading
