🔥 Happy Shavuot! 🔥
On the day of Shavuot/Pentecost, (50 days after Passover,) Jesus’ disciples were gathered together in one accord, one mind, one passion. (On the Jewish calendar, this was this past Friday. As Christians we celebrate it on the Lord’s Day (1st day of the week.)
On this feast day celebrating God giving His Law/Torah to Moses, He sent His Spirit to fill and indwell the men and women who followed Him, His disciples. He came to write His law on their/our hearts, not just on tablets of stone. To empower them/us to share God’s Word, His life transforming Good News! To live their/our lives for Him—many of them doing that through extreme torture and execution.
That same Spirit is given to fill and indwell each of us who have been spiritually born of Him, to help us, to guide us, to comfort us, to teach us, to empower us to live for Him.
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then he who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through his Spirit who lives in you.
Romans 8:11
