Sheep & The Shepherd {Tutorial}

A couple of weeks ago, I shared some thoughts on Sheep, Shepherds, and Wolves. If you haven’t read that yet, click on over. In reflecting and writing, I knew I wanted to do a Bible Journaling page to remember it in my Bible. You saw my beginning ideas in that post. Here’s the conclusion and video tutorial. I made it right away, while still reflecting, but it took a while to get the tutorial edited. Sorry for the delay. (See pic at bottom for what I’ve been busy doing.) 😍 I’d recently gotten the new Happy Herd die set, and… Continue reading →

Journaling Retreat

I open up many of my journal pages to you, to come alongside you as a helper of your joy. Showing you that imperfect art is worthwhile to create, and should bring no shame—only joy and healing in the moment and making. And to bring you confidence that you too can do this. You were created to create! I’d love to help you learn how. Continue reading →

Seasons—Looking Ahead

If you’ve read my last 2 posts, you know that as I transition from the busy holidays into a New Year, I take a week for Reflection. Looking back and Looking forward. I know very little about what the New Year will throw my way, but I focus on what I desire to create more of in my life—as well as look at what I want less of, (and how much of it is in my ability to get rid of.) Life will throw us enough curve balls that there is nothing we can do about. But we can do… Continue reading →

Called to Comfort

Called to Comfort—Decades ago, 2 Corinthians 1:4 became a mission verse for me in mentoring and coaching others. Throughout my life as I’ve gone through hard things, God has sent others to me that needed comfort, hope, wise counsel from His unchanging Word. This mixed media Faith Art journal page illustrates that. Continue reading →

Send Me {video}

Isaiah 6:8 has been on my heart this past week or so. I’ve spent nearly my entire adult life in Christian ministry. But betrayal trauma nearly silenced my voice, and the years of healing from it practically put a pause in my outreach ministry. Although my personal relationship with God didn’t waiver, the level of my bold outward witness no doubt lessened. “Here am I, Lord. Send me.” “Here am I, YHWH. Send me.” Isaiah 6:8 I’ve been playing catch up back at home this week, after being gone to Convention all the last week. Still continuing to create a… Continue reading →

Why Post “Ugly Art”

Why do I post unfinished, messy middle, even ugly art? It is not what it will be. It is the beginning of something new. It will be transformed step-by-step, layer by layer–just like our lives. Beauty from Ashes! ~Liberty My goal in writing, creating, and sharing is not to impress you with my art (or any other) skills. (Nor incite shame for any lack of them.) My goal is to encourage YOU to create. Regardless of your talents or lack of them. For you to know that anyone can create–and everyone should! I post for you to be free to… Continue reading →

Restorative Creativity

Some Pray & Play* time. Creativity based on just being present in the moment. Having no agenda or direction. No goal to “finish it.” Not even “practicing” a specific thing. Just Creative Freedom—for Restoration! Continue reading →

Light Overcomes

Last night, my heart was heavy. I knew I needed some creative meditative time. The feeling of “Play” wasn’t there. The “Pray” was heavily dominant in my Pray & Play time. I felt like collaging. Just gluing all the torn pieces together—into a heart of love. The scripture above came immediately to my mind. The quote above came across my feed. But as I dumped my envelope of book and music pages collage fodder on my desk, this verse was at the top of a scrap, on the top of my pile. ❤️ The light shines in the darkness, and… Continue reading →
