Creativity for many of us can look a bit different in December. We maybe focused on making Christmas cards, or gifts, or baking, or decorating, or… for me, many additional music performances. I’m sure you have plenty of added activities and events, too. Busy holiday times can change our availability, our creative schedule or style, and even our mojo and inspiration. These times may not be as soul-restoring as our usual creativity time—especially if we’re rushing to get things done, and fit them into an already extra busy schedule. Isaiah 6:8 has been on my heart this past week or so. I’ve spent nearly my entire adult life in Christian ministry. But betrayal trauma nearly silenced my voice, and the years of healing from it practically put a pause in my outreach ministry. Last night, my heart was heavy. I knew I needed some creative meditative time. The feeling of “Play” wasn’t there. The “Pray” was heavily dominant in my Pray & Play time. I felt like collaging. Just gluing all the torn pieces together—into a heart of love. The scripture above came immediately to my mind. The quote above came across my feed.
