Creative Challenges

What does your creativity look like so far this month? Drop a pic in the Comments ⬇️ or over at our Freely Whole Creative Community. After posting my first art journal page of the year, I stepped into something that’s usually not my style, as a challenge. You know. Sometimes you just have to step out of your wheelhouse and do something different. This one was a several sessions Collage class, with Cat Rains. I didn’t have time to prepare my papers, to the extent suggested. That was supposed to happen in Dec, when I was up to my eyeballs… Continue reading

Our God is for Us

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭31‬-‭32‬ This verse is solid truth we can hang our hopes on. But it doesn’t always feel that way. We face a lot of things in life that are scary. Those of us who have lived in DV know very well the feeling of being alone and that everyone and everything is against us…. Continue reading

Safety–Exit Plan (Part 4)

The following is the first part in a series of articles that are each segments from the Freely Whole Safety–Exit Plan. The entire formatted, as checklists, document can be downloaded for Free here. I’ve broken it into parts for posting as articles. Part 1 can be read here. Safety and Exit Plan Part 4 Budget Considerations I’ve decided to add this category to this document, since it is info you will also need when filing for divorce/separation. Much of it can be determined from the above documents (in previous articles or the full document). But some women have never be a… Continue reading

Safety–Exit Plan (Part 1)

The following is the first part in a series of articles that are each segments from the Freely Whole Safety–Exit Plan. The entire formatted, as checklists, document can be downloaded for Free here. I’ve broken it into parts for posting as articles. Safety and Exit Plan Part 1 This Safety and Exit Plan was compiled based on my deep-dive research and information I found when I was going through and needing this. Some online, some in talking with others. (Sorry, I don’t have references.) Every resource I found differed, granted with overlapping similarities in some. But there were additional things… Continue reading

Last & First

🥳 Happy New Year! 🥳 The last shall be first. Meaning, my last make of 2025 also became my first make of 2026. I had decided the theme for my NYE art project a week ago, choosing Comfort & Joy. I even designed a couple images for my focal point. But when I sat down last night to create, it just wasn’t coming. So I started with some neurographic drawing, which is always a good art (and brain) exercise when you’re not sure what direction you want to go. But it wasn’t what I had envisioned! After rounding and coloring,… Continue reading

Happy NYE!

Happy New Year’s Eve!What was your favorite thing you created in 2025? Here are 12 of my favorite mixed media Faith+Art makes of 2025.It was hard to narrow them down, they all brought me such Joy in the making. Although I repeat like a broken record, “transformational art making is more about the beauty created in you than on the canvas/page,” it’s still nice when we have finished art projects that we love. Up first is a journal page I’ve never shown here before. It’s from my course, He Restores My Soul—a transformative Faith+Art journey through Psalm 23. I love… Continue reading

Seasons—Looking Ahead

If you’ve read my last 2 posts, you know that as I transition from the busy holidays into a New Year, I take a week for Reflection. Looking back and Looking forward. I know very little about what the New Year will throw my way, but I focus on what I desire to create more of in my life—as well as look at what I want less of, (and how much of it is in my ability to get rid of.) Life will throw us enough curve balls that there is nothing we can do about. But we can do… Continue reading

Seasons—A Look Back

Creativity for many of us can look a bit different in December. We maybe focused on making Christmas cards, or gifts, or baking, or decorating, or… for me, many additional music performances. I’m sure you have plenty of added activities and events, too. Busy holiday times can change our availability, our creative schedule or style, and even our mojo and inspiration. These times may not be as soul-restoring as our usual creativity time—especially if we’re rushing to get things done, and fit them into an already extra busy schedule. But I find that staying creative, even in different ways, helps… Continue reading
